Chatsmed Candlelight Nursing School Admission Requirements

If you’re planning to study at Chatsmed Candlelight Nursing School, here’s what you’ll need to qualify for admission:

1. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
   • You must have a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent qualification.
   • How to Apply for Matric Upgrade.
2. SUBJECTS NEEDED
   • You should have passed Mathematics (at least Level 4) or Mathematics Literacy (at least Level 5).
   • You also need Life Sciences (Biology) at Level 4 and Physical Sciences at Level 4.
   • English must be one of your subjects, since it’s the language of learning.
3. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
   • You’ll need a valid South African ID or proof of legal residence.
   • The school may require you to go through a selection process, which could include an interview or assessment.
   • Because nursing involves clinical training, you’re expected to be medically and physically fit.
   • Competency in English is expected because instruction and assessments will likely be in English. (Must have passed English in NSC or equivalent.)
4. PROGRAMME NOTES
   • For the Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing (1 year), the entry requirements are a bit more flexible, but you still need to meet the basic NSC requirements.
   • For the Diploma in Nursing (3 years), stronger results in the science subjects are essential.

An application is considered incomplete if the “Documents Required to be submitted with Application Form“ is not attached. Such an application will not be considered for selection.
