CPUT Late Walk-in application process for programmes with available spaces 2023

PLEASE NOTE: The lists will be amended as registration continues and spaces are being filled up.

WHO MAY APPLY

  1. Applicants who exhausted only 1 or 2 options out of the maximum of 3 choices for applications submitted during the normal application timelines (Refer to Categories A and B below)
  2. Applicants who did not apply during the normal application timelines (maximum of 3 choices) (Refer to Categories A and B below)
  3. Applicants who have exhausted their 3 choices but meet the entry requirements for a programme with available space may submit an appeal to the Dean of the relevant Faculty for consideration of a 4th choice. A manual application form must be completed and delivered in person to the Faculty Manager (Refer to Category C process below)
  4. National applicants (with an SA ID), including Refugee/Asylum Seeker and/or Permanent Residency applicants with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) / SC (Senior Certificate) / NCV (National Vocal Certificate) / National Qualification.
  5. National applicants (with an SA ID) with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates
  6. Refugee/Asylum Seeker status applicants with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates
  7. Permanent residency applicants with SA ID with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates
  8. Regretfully no RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) applications will be considered

APPLICATION PROCESS

BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO APPLY, DO THE FOLLOWING:

  • STEP 1: Consult the list of programmes with available spaces for submission during the above timeframe (refer to the list provided)
  • STEP 2: Ensure that you meet the minimum admission and subject requirements for your programme of choice.
  • STEP 3: Scroll down to your specific programme of choice for any additional (programme-specific) supporting documentation and/or any other requirements.
      • 3.1. Certify all your supporting documentation. Certification must be less than 3 months old.
      3.2. No ID, Grade 11 and Grade 12 results documentation is required to be submitted for online applications but is still
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  1. Only completed applications will be considered. Please consult the list of supporting documentation
  2. Only applications that followed the outlined application process will be considered as an application.
  3. Incomplete and manual applications submissions (including those received via Postal Services (courier) will not be considered for this category of applications
  4. Being accepted academically does not guarantee a space in residences due to limited residence space.

HOW TO APPLY

MODE OF APPLICATION

CATEGORY A APPLICANTS – ONLINE APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS ONLY 

  • The primary mode of application is online and therefore no manual application will be considered for the following category of applicants:
  1. National applicants (with an SA ID) with
    • 1.1 National Senior Certificate (NSC) / SC (Senior Certificate ) / NCV (National Vocal Certificate) / National Qualification for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies
    • 1.1.1 i.e. first-year applicants, returning students, applicants transferring from other institutions, CPUT students with a gap in studies
  2. who meets the minimum requirements
  3. Refugee/Asylum Seeker and Permanent Residency applicants must follow the manual application process below (CATEGORY B APPLICANTS)
  4. Applicants are encouraged to apply from the comfort of their homes, or wherever they have Internet access
  5. Applicants are required to scan any additional supporting documentation required prior to applying online

  • PLEASE NOTE: No incomplete and manual application submissions (including those received via Postal Services (courier) will not be considered for this category of applications

CATEGORY B APPLICATIONS – MANUAL APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS ONLY

  1. Manual applications will ONLY be allowed for the following categories of applications:
    • National applicants (with an SA ID) with International qualifications who already have SAQA certification
    • All Refugee/Asylum Seeker status applicants
    • Permanent residency applicants with SA ID
  2. who meets the minimum requirements

PLEASE NOTE: Incomplete applications (including those received via Postal Services (courier) will not be considered.

CATEGORY C APPLICATIONS – MANUAL APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS ONLY (4th choice)

Applicants who have exhausted their 3 choices but meet the entry requirements for a programme with available spaces may submit an appeal to the Dean of the relevant Faculty for consideration of a 4th choice. A manual application form must be completed and delivered in person to the Faculty Manager.

#No application fee is chargeable.

APPLICATION OUTCOME

Selections will be conducted within the respective Faculties and the outcome will be communicated via SMS to the applicant.

In addition, applicants can access the online tracking facility to:

  • track the outcome of the selections online and
  • download an Acceptance Letter from this facility
