What Are Matric Exams in South Africa?

The term ‘Matric’ in South Africa refers to the last grade in High School which is known as Grade 12.

Learners who pass Grade 12 (Matric) in South African High Schools qualify for the National Senior Certificate (NSC).

South African Qualification achieved by Students generally complete an NSC in 3 to 5 years, which includes studies done in 3 Grades: Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12.

Passing matric is one of the most important achievements in your academic career. It opens the door for many further study options and career opportunities.
