How Does SACAI Work?

SACAI operates as an assessment body and does not directly offer educational programs. Instead, it partners with accredited distance education providers who deliver the CAPS curriculum.

Learners enrol with these providers to receive instruction and complete Continuous Assessment (CASS) tasks, contributing 25% to their final NSC mark. The remaining 75% is derived from the final examinations administered by SACAI.

These exams are conducted at SACAI-accredited centres, ensuring standardized assessment conditions.

SACAI Offers

SACAI offers unit standards-based summative assessments for:

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC)
  • General Education and Training Certificate: Adult Basic Education and Training (GETC: ABET): This qualification caters to adult learners aiming to achieve foundational education.

SACAI Application Process

To pursue the NSC or GETC: ABET qualifications through SACAI, follow these steps:

Choose a SACAI-registered distance education provider that aligns with your educational needs. Providers like CambriLearn, Think Digital Academy, and Qurtuba Online Academy offer various courses under SACAI’s assessment framework.

Enroll directly with the chosen provider. They will guide you through their specific registration procedures, course offerings, and fee structures.

The education provider will handle your registration with SACAI for assessments. They will inform you about examination dates, venues, and additional requirements.
