Before Applying for Admission or picking a form at Arwyp Training Institute (ATI), there are certain requirements set up for aspiring candidates to take note of, therefore, We have taken time to outline the Arwyp admission requirements for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as other members of the institute.

Arwyp Training Institute Admission Requirements

ATI admission requirements for 2024 applicants are available below and are divided into two (2) sessions, there are;

  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Higher Certificate in Nursing

Carefully read and understand every set-out demand as it will create more chances for successful admission processes, let’s get into it.

Diploma in Nursing Requirement for Intake 2024

For the Diploma in Nursing Program, the following are required before processing admission at Arwyp Training Institute (ATI);

Candidates Who Matriculated Prior to 2008:

  • National Senior Certificate with an endorsement for entry into Higher Education.
  • An English achievement is as follows: A minimum M-score of 2 (English HG 50% or SG 60%).
  • A total M-score of at least 12.

Candidates Who Matriculated from 2008 Onwards:

  • National Senior Certificate with an endorsement for entry into Higher Education.
  • An English achievement as follows: A minimum admission point score (APS) on level 5 (60%).
  • A candidate must have achieved a minimum APS on level 4 (50%) in two other fundamental subjects (apart from the language of learning and teaching).
  • A candidate must have achieved a minimum APS on level 5 (60%) in the three compulsory vocational subjects.
  • A total APS of at least 28.

Learning Assumed to Be in Place:

  • Communication Skills Level 4
  • Mathematical Literacy Level 4
  • Life Sciences Level 4
  • Computer Literacy Level

All Candidates Must Achieve the Following:

  • A written English test score of at least 60%.
  • A psychometric general mental ability (GMA) score of at least 5.5.
  • A selection interview score of at least 75%.
  • The candidate must produce proof that he/she has permission from his/her employer to study (if applicable).

Documents Required to be submitted with Application Form:

  • Application form.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • X2 SAPS certified copies of Senior Certificate with an endorsement for entry into Higher Education.
  • X2 SAPS certified copies of South African ID document.
  • Higher Certificate in Nursing if applicable (NQF level 5).
  • Proof of payment of application handling fee.

Higher Certificate in Requirement for Intake 2024

For the Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing, the following criteria apply;

Candidates Who Matriculated Prior to 2008:

  • National Senior Certificate with an endorsement for entry into Higher Education.
  • An English achievement is as follows: A minimum matric score (M-score) of 2 (English HG 50% or SG 60%).
  • A total M-score of at least 8.

Candidates Who Matriculated from 2008 Onwards:

  • National Senior Certificate NQF level 4, with an endorsement for entry into Higher Education.
  • An English achievement as follows: A minimum admission point score APS) on level 5 (60%).
  • A total APS of at least 17.

Learning Assumed to Be in Place:

  • English (at least D symbol)
  • Mathematical literacy Level 4
  • Life Sciences Level 4
  • Computer Literacy Level 3
  • Communication Level

All Candidates Must Achieve the Following:

  • A written English test score of at least 50%.
  • A psychometric general mental ability (GMA) has a score of at least 5.
  • A selection interview score of at least 75%.

Documents Required to be submitted with Application Form

  • Application form.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • X2 SAPS certified copies of Senior Certificate.
    • Please note that a symbols statement is not acceptable.
  • X2 SAPS certified copies of South African ID document.
  • Proof of payment of application handling fee.

IMPORTANT: 

Please know that all applications are processed within ten days after the closing date as specified on the notice/advertisement/brochure/website.

If the application document is not complete the application will not be processed. An application is considered as incomplete if any of the documents listed under point 2 are not attached. Such application will not be considered for selection.

Candidates who do not meet the academic requirements will be eliminated and informed by the appointed administrative person within 10 working days following the completion of the paper selection.

Note that fees are non-refundable.

An application is considered incomplete if the Documents Required to be submitted with Application Form is not attached. Such application will not be considered for selection.
