The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has extended the validity of its gold cards until 20 March 2025. This extension provides beneficiaries additional time to transition to the new Postbank black cards.
The initial deadline was 28 February 2025, but it has been postponed to address concerns and challenges faced by recipients during the card replacement process.

To locate a card replacement centre, beneficiaries should do the following;

- Select option 1
- Choose their province to view available locations.

IMPORTANT:
- When collecting the new card, it’s essential to bring a valid ID document.
- If collecting on behalf of someone else, an official SASSA proxy letter is required.
- Asylum seekers should present their official SASSA approval letter.
It’s important to note that while the SASSA gold cards remain valid until 20 March 2025, beneficiaries are strongly encouraged to transition to the new Postbank black cards as soon as possible to avoid potential disruptions in accessing their grants.
