How Much Does Nsfas Pay?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Pays Different Amounts to Students Depending on Their Needs and Circumstances:
- Book Allowance:Â R5,200 per Year
- Incidental/Personal Care Allowance: R2,900 per Year for Students in Catered Residences
- Accommodation:Â R24,000 per Year in An Urban Area, R18,900 per Year in A Peri-Urban Area, and R15,750 per Year in A Rural Area
- Transport:Â R7,350 per Year for Up to 40 Km from The Institution
- Tuition:Â Paid to Universities
TVET College Application Periods
NSFAS TVET College application periods align with the academic calendar for students applying for funding based on their intended registration cycle.
- Trimester 2: Opens 12 May 2025 and closes 23 May 2025.
- Semester 2: Opens 14 July 2025 and closes 31 July 2025.
- Trimester 3: Opens 8 September 2025 and closes 19 September 2025.

- Provide all required information by completing the application form.
- Upload and submit supporting documents
