Starting tomorrow, March 2nd, 2023, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) will begin giving out permanent grant payments.
Therefore, note that SASSA grants are usually given out once every month.
Below are the dates for when SASSA will be paying out grants in March 2023:
- Older Person’s Grants: Thursday, 2 March 2023
- Disability Grants: Friday, 3 March 2023
- Child Support and Other Grants: Monday, 6 March 2023
SASSA Money Withdrawal Advice
Beneficiaries don’t have to pick up their grant payment on the exact date it’s scheduled to be paid out.
There are various methods available for beneficiaries to collect their grants.
Payment options are ATMs and retail stores, which include Shoprite Checkers, U-save, Pick n Pay and Boxer stores.
To set up a direct deposit, beneficiaries need to provide SASSA with their bank account details, including the bank name, branch code, and account number. Once the details have been verified, SASSA will transfer the grant money directly into the beneficiary’s account on the designated payment date.
To prevent fraudulent activity, beneficiaries are required to provide their ID and cellphone numbers. It’s important to use the same cellphone number used to register on the SASSA database, as a confirmation pin will be sent to this number.
Recipients are advised against collecting their SRD grant payments at the South African Post Office (SAPO), as it is no longer an authorized facility for grant payment collection.
