UCT Registration Dates 2024/2025

In order to ensure adequate time for application processing, and planning by the university and yourself, applications for early admission in 2024 should be as follows;

UCT Registration Dates 2024

The University of Cape Town (UCT) has stated that they will be open and accepting online applications to the 2024/2025 academic year from;

The ability to register for the intake will not be possible before JANUARY

First-Year students:

Off-campus and online registration: Monday, 1 March until Friday, 12 March

If you wrote Grade 12 in 2024 or before, then you can register from Monday, 1st March.

Undergraduate Returning Students Registration

This applies to all students who have already been registered for a BSc at UCT prior to 2024 and who are academically eligible to continue in 2024 or have been granted a concession to return.

Registration will not take place on campus as usual.  Students will be required to register remotely using the PeopleSoft system, well in advance of the return to campus.  A detailed notification will be sent in January of how to register using PeopleSoft.  It is therefore important to continue to check your UCT email account.

Registration Dates

The final results for the 2024 academic year will be released on the system on 19 January. Results of supplementary, deferred, and summer term exams in January will be released on 10 February.

• All returning students who have no outstanding/ missing results by 19 January will be required to register remotely from 20 January, for a set period.
• Students with any outstanding results (those writing supplementary, deferred, and summer term exams) will be required to register from 15 February, for a set period.

All students must register in the appropriate period indicated above and not wait until returning to Cape Town.  All returners must have registered by the end of February.  Students who register late may face a late registration penalty of R2000.
