Applications for the 2025 academic year at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) will open in March 2024. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various faculties, including:
- Faculty of Arts and Humanities

- Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences

How to Apply Online at the University of The Western Cape
You can apply online through the UWC website.

Here are the steps on how to apply:
- Visit the UWC website (https://www.uwc.ac.za/) and click on the “Apply Now” button.
- Select the “Undergraduate Applications” option.
- Choose the programme you want to apply for.
- Complete the online application form.
- Submit all required documents, including:
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate or Senior Certificate with a Bachelor’s pass
- A minimum achievement level of 4 in four higher-grade subjects relevant to your chosen program of study
- English language proficiency
- Certified copy of your identity document
- Recent academic results (e.g., Grade 11 results or June 2023 exam results for Grade 12 applicants)
- Proof of any previous studies, if applicable
- An affidavit describing your activities after your matric year, if applicable (for post-matric applicants)
PLEASE NOTE:
The closing date for applications is usually in September of the year before you want to start studying. However, the exact closing date for 2025 applications has not been announced yet.

- There is no application fee.
- You can apply for up to three programmes.
- You will need to create an account on the UWC website before you can apply.
- Once you have submitted your application, you will be able to track its progress online.
