Project Officer Job Details
Purpose
- Plan International is an independent non-profit organization that advances children’s well-being and equality for girls. Working in building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years and present in 70 countries, Plan International strives for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children while working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners.
- Plan International Ghana is looking for a Project Officer to work as part of a team of professionals to deliver high-quality programming and results for a project titled “Women’s Voice and Leadership – Ghana”. The project will support local women’s rights organizations with grants and capacity development to strengthen their organizational development, programming and advocacy, and sustainability. It will further support collaboration and collective action to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. The project has a national reach and aims to support 98 Women’s Rights Organizations (WROs). The project started in April 2019, has a duration of five years, and a budget of over $3.2 million EUR.
Qualification Required & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or Gender studies, or Social work, and other related fields with a minimum of 5 years substantial experience of which at least two years experience with NGOs.
- Demonstrated experience of working on gender equality and empowerment of women and girls and advocacy of equality and inclusion.
- Experience with a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including from policy-makers and senior management to local government and CSOs, as well as community leaders and beneficiaries.
- Experience in working with women development organizations,
- Grass-root development management experiences-understanding challenges and opportunities in the communities and field level realities of NGOs are desirable.

Project Coordinator (Oti Region) Job Details
Dimensions of Role:
- The project coordinator will work with stakeholders at the districts/municipal level to address the root causes of gender inequalities through gender-transformative approaches. This includes an express need to ensure meaningful male engagement to support women’s improved agency.
- The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating quality programming and results, financial management and compliance, stakeholder and partner relations, and donor deliverables at districts/municipal levels.
- He/she will coordinate the establishment of women and girl awareness centers to help address SGBV issues in the region.
- He/she is responsible for program planning, implementation, and reporting in compliance with donor and government agreements.
- The post-holder will be based in Oti Region and travel to project communities where the Be Smart project operates for approximately 60% of her/his time.
Qualification Required & Experience
- Minimum of 1st Degree or equivalent in the fields of Public Health, Nursing and other relevant Social Sciences, with at least 3years experience in a related field
- Strong understanding and proven application of project cycle management.
- A proven passion for innovation and a commitment to protection-focused programming as well as familiarity with current trends on SGBV.
- Fluency in English
- A successful track record in supervising, designing, coordinating, managing, and implementing donor-funded projects.
- Proven commitment to mainstream gender and equality issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to use different communication media effectively, including email, telephone, SKYPE, and written correspondence.
- Capacity building experience in project design, implementation, reporting, and evaluation.
Project Coordinator (Eastern Region) Job Details

- University degree in public health and at least 5 years experience in a health and protection related field.
- Strong understanding and proven application of project cycle management.

- Fluency in English
- A successful track record in supervising, designing, coordinating, managing and implementing donor-funded projects.
- Proven commitment to mainstream gender and equality issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to use different communication media effectively, including email, telephone, SKYPE, and written correspondence.
- Experience in designing integrated participatory strategies, community mobilization and capacity development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, coach, mobilize others and develop effective relationships with internal and external colleagues, partners, volunteers and youth participation.
- Ability to work well and respectfully as part of a diverse team, and in cross-cultural contexts.

Quality Assurance Specialist Job Details
Dimensions of Role:
- He/She will contribute to the successful financial project management in compliance with donor (Global Affairs Canada guidelines. He/She will strengthen the capacity of the respective project staff and local partner organizations for quality financial administration.
- He/She ensures that financial reports and the respective supporting documents shared with the donor are of high quality. To achieve this the Quality Assurance Specialist will work at two levels:
- A preliminary review of financial reports before they are shared with CNO
- Provide initial support and capacity building of financial teams of new partner organizations and Plan staff
- Provide Risk Management and support for the proper functioning of the WISE financial System
- Area of Responsibility – Wise Project
- Located at Tamale
Qualification Required & Experience
Knowledge and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or its equivalent, with Part II Professional Qualification;
- Extensive practical experience of at least five years in risk-based auditing;
- Knowledge of program and project implementation is an added advantage;
- At least 3 years experience in a similar position with a recognized institution preferably an International NGO
