Senior Communications Manager Job Details

Qualification Required & Experience

Who you are:

  • Minimum of ten years experience. Ideally across several verticals like B2C, B2B, Policy, Product and/or Corporate communications.
  • Experience in planning and leading communications campaigns, ideally at both a PR agency and in-house
  • Hands-on experience with consumer technology and/or media company
  • Strong writing, editing and messaging skills
  • Strong skills in collaboration, project management and strategic planning
  • Existing relationships with local media. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible, amiable, a good colleague and collaborator
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Communication skills that make working with remote colleagues efficient and effective

Curator Job Details


  • Curate live updates around various topics and events across civic integrity, local news, misinformation, entertainment and sports for Twitter customers
  • Weave together stories from sequences of Tweets
  • Identify events and emerging trends on Twitter that will drive unique content experiences
  • Work cross-collaboratively with teammates and internal stakeholders to create strategies for key events in West Africa time zone

Qualification Required & Experience

  • Strong real-time news judgment: Able to provide timely and accurate coverage of the most impactful conversations on the platform.
  • Excellent editing skills. Can quickly identify ways to improve copy and effectively communicate changes while working with others in the team.
  • Use Twitter and very familiar with the product
  • Experience in online content moderation
  • Excellent understanding of the Nigerian political system
  • Deadline-oriented and thrives in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Fluency and ability to read and write in English and Pidgin English

Nice to haves:

Senior Researcher – Global Participation Job Details


  • Lead purposeful relationship-building with a wide array of partners and other research teams
  • Lead the proactive discovery, exploration, development and presentation of insights to drive strategy in the global participation space
  • Partner with Design, Product, Engineering and Data Science teams to build in research at multiple stages of the product development process
  • Collaborate with domestic and international research and product partners
  • Ensure problems are approached through the integration of multiple data streams, including qualitative and quantitative research along with cultural trends and patterns
  • Advocate for insights in order to drive action and impact by providing compelling narratives and artefacts

Qualification Required & Experience

  • 7+ years conducting user research and/or market research, with an excellent command of both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Experience working with teams and conducting research globally, across culture and languages
  • Experience working in startups or on highly ambitious zero-to-one projects.
  • Fluency in English. Fluency in at least one local language in West Africa
  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum requirement)

  • Driving Curation’s involvement in cross-functional projects related to company priorities
  • Building a positive, proactive and inclusive team culture that makes all Tweeps feel like their contribution matters
  • Selecting, training and managing a team of Curators of varying levels of experience
  • Ensuring the team has a well-rounded and diverse set of skills and knowledge


  • Providing easy-to-understand, constructive feedback to help the team and individual development
  • Planning and optimizing the team’s schedules and working patterns
  • Preparing at least six months in advance for major upcoming global events
  • Identify new processes, tools and workflows to improve the effectiveness of team performance

Qualification Required & Experience

  • BA/BSc degree or equivalent experience
  • Written and verbal fluency in English; other west African languages are a plus
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • 6-8+ years of experience working at management level in journalism, content moderation or similar
  • Excellent understanding of the Nigerian political system
  • Extensive experience of using Twitter, preferably as a tool in reporting
  • Experience with newsgathering tools like Tweetdeck, Dataminr for News, etc preferred but not required.

Qualification Required & Experience

  • BA/BS degree or local equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Data Specialist, Curation Job Details

Qualification Required & Experience

  • Fluent in English and while this role is primarily focused on English and English Pidgin content, working proficiency in one or more of the following languages is an advantage: Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo.
  • Cultural understanding of the Nigerian news, politics, and events
  • BS degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or other related fields
  • 1-2 years experience in a media-related field
