ILASA Bursary South Africa 2025

The Institute for Landscape Architecture in South Africa (ILASA) offers bursaries to support South African students pursuing degrees in Landscape Architecture.

These bursaries are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies at institutions accredited by the South African Council for the Landscape Architectural Profession (SACLAP), including the University of Cape Town (UCT), University of Pretoria (UP), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).

The bursary provides partial financial support, covering registration fees, tuition fees, and, in exceptional cases, residence fees. The maximum amount awarded per student is R40,000, paid directly to the tertiary institution or relevant service providers.

Eligibility Criteria

  • South African citizenship or naturalized citizenship.
  • Enrollment or intention to enrol in a Landscape Architecture degree at one of the accredited institutions.
  • A minimum overall average of 60% in the previous year of study.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Preference is given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Application Process for ILASA Bursary

Take the following steps for a successful application to the bursary.

  1. Access the ILASA Bursary Application Form for 2025 from the ILASA website.
  2. Fill in all required details accurately.
  3. Include certified copies of your;
    • ID
    • Academic transcripts
    • Proof of acceptance at an accredited institution
    • Proof of income, and
    • A motivational letter detailing your academic achievements, financial need, and career aspirations.
  4. Email the completed form and supporting documents to ilasa@ilasa.co.za and cc christine.price@uct.ac.za.

IMPORTANT:

  • The deadline for bursary applications is 29 November.
  • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
